Cabaret is coming and we can’t wait.
If you are new to Love You Burlesque you may heard others talking about this ‘cabaret’ but not really know what it is
Fear not… I am going to reveal all (in true burlesque fashion).
Cabaret is an annual event hosted by Love You Burlesque.
It sees the whole of the school from across Essex, Suffolk and Herts come together for a night full of dance, sparkles and fabulous.
As well as being an amazing chance to perform, and show your loved ones what you get up to at class (well the dancing anyway), it is also a chance to meet other lovelies who you don’t get the chance to dance with regularly.
Each class performs their latest routine, as well as any dances created in workshops.
You can expect lots of cheering, whooping and smiles at cabaret as it really is a night of celebration
It’s all about celebrating yourself, your body and all of the other wonderful women of Love You Burlesque.
Whether it’s your first time performing or if you are a seasoned performer, cabaret is so much fun.
You are guaranteed to make friends, have a great time and feel amazing.
Another reason why I think cabaret is fantastic is the variety.
I’m not just talking about how there will be lots of different styles of routines and a range of props from hats to fans, shirts to boas.
I am also talking about the variety of people.
Love You Burlesque’s lovelies come in all shapes and sizes, all ages and backgrounds.
We truly believe that all women can do burlesque, and all look fabulous doing it – if you come to cabaret you will see that we are right!
Personally I also love the opportunity to get all dressed up.
Covid has really limited us all over the past few years with being able to go out.
If there was ever a time to start getting dressed up again cabaret is definitely it.
There will be feathers, eyelashes, corsets, stockings and a whole lot of glitter.
Now, I don’t expect you to just take my word for it.
We asked some of our lovelies to describe cabaret and why they enjoy it.
Here is what they said:
Clare’s favourite thing about cabaret is: “Ladies supporting other ladies”
Kerri said that she loves: “Seeing all the fabulous ladies from far and wide come together and sparkle.”
Sarah loves cabaret so much that she said her favourite part of it is: “EVERYTHING”.
Emy looked back at the last LYB cabaret back in 2019 (thanks Covid) and said that she loved: “Being a Lovecat and having lazers in our tails!!! Best time playing up to the audience”.
It’s not too late to be a part of cabaret.
You can still sign up for all of the courses to learn and perform your routine.
As always there is no pressure to perform, and lovelies are more than welcome to come along to support their classmates even if they don’t dance themselves.
More details about cabaret will be released very soon so keep your eyes peeled.
Keep sparkling,
